Design & Construction
Fabricast Self-Contained 1.50 inch bore slip rings are developed for rotating assemblies that require expanded internal space while maintaining a contained, factory-aligned electrical system. The electrical path is formed using coin silver rings working against silver graphite contact elements, supporting consistent current flow during continuous rotation.
The enclosed housing supports fixed internal geometry and electrical spacing, reducing sensitivity to installation variables in larger assemblies. By integrating the rotor, brush system, and insulation into a single unit, this design accommodates increased rotational mass and routing complexity while maintaining controlled internal contact conditions.
Typical Applications
Self-Contained 1.50 in Bore Slip Rings are commonly applied in mid-to-large rotary systems where increased pass-through clearance and simplified installation are both important, including:
- Rotary platforms and indexing systems
- Automation equipment with bundled cabling or shafts
- Rotating sensor housings and inspection systems
- Defense and aerospace subsystems requiring enclosed electrical interfaces
- Industrial machinery with moderate-to-large bore requirements
